A Post-Workout Smoothie: Kale, Banana, and Peanut Butter Fusion!

This is one of my all time favorite smoothies! It’s so yummy and has the best balance of fruit and greens plus the added flavor of peanut butter for a smooth and rich taste. This smoothie is the perfect way to treat yourself after a workout routine or just to get your day going!

Ingredients include:

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 fresh banana
  • 1 spoonful of peanut butter
  • 2 cups of kale
  • 1 tsp of minced ginger
  • a sprinkle of flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp of agave
  • 1 cup of water (or unsweetened almond milk, which I prefer)

The kale is a great source of antioxidants as well as Vitamins C and K. Peanut butter and flaxseed work together to provide you with the protein boost that you may need, especially those of you seeking to build some muscle. It’s also loaded in fiber! What a match made in heaven.

But this is not just some normal banana kale smoothie recipe. With my added ingredient of ginger, you get a nice spicy addition that is also an immune booster. And if you know you me, then you know how I feel about my ginger and how helpful it can be for strengthening your immune system. With everything going on right now it’s important that we get any support that we can get.
